PRESERVATION OF BIODIVERSITY – Barasat, India Central

$100.00

The “Beekeeping for Healthy Biodiversity” project is a community-based environmental initiative by Nava Jeevan Convent in Barasat, West Bengal. The land is fertile with abundant vegetation and flowers providing an ideal habitat for bees and other pollinators. This project aims to conserve biodiversity through sustainable beekeeping, mushroom cultivation, and vermicomposting, while simultaneously empowering women and farmers through Self-Help Groups (SHGs). By partnering with Bee Active, a Kolkata-based ecological training group, the sisters and community members will receive hands-on training in eco-friendly practices. The initiative will boost crop yields, promote food security, generate income from organic honey and bee products, and foster environmental awareness to the beneficiaries.
