The Sisters of Our Lady of the Missions wish to express our sincere thanks to our Partners who have generously donated to the relief projects in Myanmar following the devastation and destruction left by the recent earthquake.

We received the following emails of appreciation from Sister Elizabeth Kan Wai, Province Leader for the money sent for Emergency Relief.

Dear Sister Catherine,

Greetings from Myanmar! I just came back from Yamethin, the earthquake area assisting the victims with housing and nutrition projects. I went with the Jesuit fathers and the Korean sister, the Congregation of Jesus. I have made the arrangement to support 20 more families with the housing project for the victims.

We are so grateful for all your support.

Three of our sisters went to assist the affected people with the basic needs and they came back yesterday evening. We shall make a proper plan to assist according to the needs of the individual family with the funds we received from all of you.

People are really suffering. The military does not care much about rescuing and helping people. It becomes “OUR” responsibility to help them. I also asked our finance agent not to deduct the service fees so that we will have a good amount for the people affected by the earthquake. He agreed to do so and he is helping us.

We shall honour our congregation, benefactors and friends by giving the suffering peoples the help they need. We are very grateful to all of you for your constant support for our suffering people in Myanmar!

May God bless you all.
Best regards, Elizabeth
